| We’ll begin
our walk at the upper border of our fishery. Here the Werksbach flows into
the Ager and forms the Pike
Hole. This deep pocket developed from
continuous wash-outs in high water. It contains pike and trout, but carp can
also be found here. Next, the Ager flows in the direction of the
Schalchhamer meadow. At the
Zsammschlag is the confluence of
the Vöckla, and fortified by its oxygen-rich water, the Ager seeks its path
through the Schalchhamer meadow with the Huchen Tumpf (Tiamen Hole). This
washed-out pocket holds spectacular fish that one can easily watch. After
the Tiamen Hole the Ager runs over a
flat section of riffles and flows along the
Schalchhamer straight
stretch towards Regau. In the
Dürweger Curve the Ager slows down and meaders
through the Regauer Senke. This is where the newly reconstructed stretch,
the
Schimpl meadows., begins. At the
Reib the Ager flows
leisurely past the big granit boulders, and it gains speed through the
TKV .
At the Marianne Heights
with the shale cliff the upper section ends, and we’ll walk on to the middle
section of the Ager, to the Roman Moser Parcours. |
